WRAMC Fellowship Graduation…

Well, it was quite a day yesterday. My last graduation ceremony. Depending on if you count Kindergarten and Junior High, it was somewhere near my 9th graduation! 32 years old and I am JUST NOW finishing school. WOW!

There was a very nice ceremony at the Strathmore Concert Hall. The entire place was covered in wood and just glowed. You’ll see it in the photos below.

All the interns, third-year residents, and graduating fellows were there. That amounts to about 300 people. That’s a lot of names!

My mom was able to come up for the ceremony and was gracious enough to man the camera (as was pointed out to me by one of my patient’s father – it wouldn’t be a Wessler event without a camera!). She did a great job handling the 2pound 2ounces worth of camera and lens.

We had a nice lunch with friends at a new restaurant downtown and then had to say goodbye to Gran. Another whirlwind event.

Now…it’s off to be a staff physician. Sigh…

Enjoy,
J

  1. Looking at these again makes me smile – it was a WONDERFUL event to share with you, Tricia and Abby. I’m amazed – you can even make MY photos look good!!! ( That camera is a dream. . . )

A postscript to your story for the readers: Tricia, Abby and I were some of the last to leave the hall, listening to the US Navy Band play Stars and Stripes Forever. We were marking time with Abby, who was loving every minute of it. When they ended we, and about half a dozen others burst into applause and shouts of pleasure. The conductor acknowledged the piccolo player, then had the band stand up and bow, and he bowed along, with a hand wave to thank this small, but adoring contingent for staying to listen. It was as if it was our own personal performance!!

The perfect ending to the culmination of your graduations. Of course all the patriotism and pomp reminded me of our AF years. Now you are the one carrying on the AF torch. Congratulations, Dr. Wessler, on a job well done.

  2. Jacob – well done, good and faithful servant. Your mom keeps me apprised of your work. I marvel at your love & compassion with your patients. God has truly called you to this field.
Are you now considered a specialist? an expert?
May God bless you in your next assignment…you’re not JUST a staff physician..there are no ordinary physicians…

  3. Congratulations Jacob!!! I’m so happy for you! The pictures turned out GREAT! You are such a wonderful doctor and I can’t wait for you all to live in the Tidewater area! Congratulations again!

    Love you!!!
