The Hungry Little Caterpillars

Abby is really enjoying our science experiment at home, thanks to Gran Wessler! Gran gave us 11 baby caterpillars and of the 11 that we transplanted to our fennel bush out back we have 6 left. It was getting too cold outside for them so we made a caterpillar hotel out of a popcorn container and we’re having so much fun feeding and watching them eat like crazy! We hope we get at least one coccoon that can turn into a butterfly. Thanks Gran!

  1. What a wonderful lesson to teach a young little one, I love it. Please keep this old one posted on the results!

  2. Update on the caterpillars! We have three cocooning and three still eating themselves into little blobs! We might actually see some butterfiles in the next few weeks! I’ll try to get a close up of them cocooning but they’re all down low in the bucket so it might be hard. We’ll enlist the family photographer for some expert opinion on how to do that. 🙂
