NICU Christmas

Greetings all!

Merry Christmas from the not-so-wintery east coast. We’ve got cold weather but no snowflakes in sight! We wanted to share this with you all. We continued our tradition last night of going to the NICU late at night on Christmas Eve (or, in this year’s case, Christmas Eve Eve!) and taking pictures with all the NICU babies. Each kid got a photo of Santa in the template (below) and a squeeze toy. The nurses were awesome and really got into the event. All the girls had little bows stuck to their heads with a tiny bit of vaseline. So sweet. There were a few families in the NICU and they had fun. The NICU even “broke” their own rules and let a 2-year-old brother come in and get his picture taken with Santa and his new brother and sister. He had never seen them before! When he walked in he said, “Is that my brother?” Break a Santa’s heart!

Anyway, after 3 hours of photo shoots, image processing, and printing, we left everyone in good spirits. Many thanks to the NICU nurses for letting me come in and pick up all their nicely-bundled and behaving babies. If you have ever worked in a NICU, you know what a miracle THAT was!!

So enjoy the photo below and have a Merry Christmas. We’ll get some Abby photos up in the next week or so. There are just too many of them!!!
