Happy Mother’s Day!

Had the nearly perfect Mother’s day today!

Had to round in the hospital this morning (hence the “nearly” perfect) but got home just after lunch so there was plenty of time to be pampered by my amazing husband and daughters for the rest of the day!

First I was showered with precious gifts and sentiments from each of them. Next, Jacob and the girls took me for a beautiful afternoon stroll in the Norfolk Botanical Gardens. As luck would have it, it was also the annual plant sale so I got to spend some time finding plants to add to my growing shade garden out back! (I wish I could explain how much I enjoyed that, but you’d think I was a complete botany nerd!)

We picked up Thai take-out and a RedBox on the way home, had dinner together on our screened porch in this absolutely perfect spring weather, and after was treated to a spectacular Mother’s Day cake, homemade by my two beautiful little girls (thanks to Vicki our babysitter for helping them do that last night)!

I am in a state of constant awe and thanks for all of the blessings that God has bestowed on me. Thank you to all of the wonderful Moms, Grandmoms and Mom-figures in my life. You are so very dear to me. Happy Mother’s Day!

Abby and Ellie made this chalk drawing in our driveway to greet me when I arrived home from work today.

The girls made this cake for me last night with the babysitter, Vicki, while Jacob and I were at an event. So delicious and absolutely adorable!
