Ellie’s Tennis Tournament

Ellie had a tennis tournament this past weekend.  What.  A.  Day.

She played mixed doubles with her new partner, Rhys.  They were quite the duo.  Coach told them going into the tournament that they were ranked #1 out of the 5 groups playing.  It would seem that tennis is very big on rankings!  So lucky to be ranked #1 but it was a bit of pressure for these two.

They did great on their first 3 matches.  Playing to 4 sets each and they blew through the other teams with relative ease.

The final match was quite the nail biter.  Things were close and we ultimately ended up at 3 to 3!  Ellie and Rhys had to win by 2 so they won their 4th set and the…THE FIFTH ONE!!

They got gold medals for their efforts.  We wrapped up the day with a Wendy’s Frosty and a relaxing afternoon.

It’s amazing to see Ellie out there nailing overhand serves, rallies, and general kick-assery!
