Abby’s Japan project

Abby had to do a project on a country of her choice at school. She chose Japan…a wise choice given her Grandparents/Mom lived there for 5 years! She worked on it for more than a month and finally presented it yesterday. It went great! A PowerPoint presentation. An oral presentation with a poster and note cards. A home-cooked meal in the style typical of your country. Traditional dress of your country. Mr Takahashi, a family friend from Japan, was gracious enough to send gifts for her to hand out to the class. Chopsticks, treats and origami paper which will be used tomorrow when I go help her classmates make origami art to send to him for display in Japan. Such a fun project and Abby did an amazing job on everything, independently! It’s amazing how much she learned and how creative and innovative she is! Our little girl is growing up so fast! Her are some pictures for you to enjoy.

  1. So proud of Abby! Never dreamed those antique shoes and kimono would be worn by our beautiful granddaughter one day! What a wonderful job she did on her project and what a thrill for us to help! Dreaming of the day we can visit Japan together! 祖母 Obaasan

  2. Very nice project! Always wondered how those shoes, worn with socks, feel on the feet. Way to go, Abby!
